Scheduling Your Project

Once you have decided to move ahead with a plasma display purchase for business use, it is very important to determine that the company you are purchasing from can deliver the goods as planned. As mentioned in the Be Careful section, there are several very aggressive companies that will promise just about anything to land a large order. These companies will promise unheard of delivery schedules or ensure product availability that they know is not realistic. Once you commit on an order, especially a sale dealing with multiple plasmas, some retailers will start to change their story. It can be very frustrating, and costly, to have an integrator, contractor or installers unable to do the project because the plasmas you ordered did not arrive as promised.

Even the most reputable retailers can experience unexpected events. By keeping schedules broad, you can prevent potential hazards, such as shipping delays or defective items, from creating a deadline nightmare. It is risky to plan a major installation on a tight schedule, and it can be costly if the installer is unable to start or finish the installation on time. It is a smart idea to arrange to have the plasmas delivered at least a week before the installer is scheduled to come. By allowing at least one week for the plasma delivery, you can prevent some potential headaches. Of course, if the project is calling for several plasma displays to be delivered, additional time may be required to transport the displays from the warehouse to your location.

Lastly, if a retailer has guaranteed that the plasma displays are available to ship, the retailer should be able to provide the shipping tracking information within 48 hours. If they do not provide the tracking information within 48 hours, there is a chance the order has not shipped. After contacting the retailer, you may discover that the units they promised were not available and the schedule is now in jeopardy.
